Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Dixie Part Of Historic Primary. The 2008 Democratic Presidential Primary was historic. Not only were there a record number of voters that turned out, but the ticket featured an African-American and a female. For the first time in our lives, the May Kentucky Primary actually had relevance on a national landscape. Dixie Heights High School had its part in it too as Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton, paid a visit to the school.
